Location

Pride House Birmingham is located in the heart of Birmingham’s Gay Village (Southside) at Wynner House, 143 Bromsgrove St, B5 6RG, above The Loft Bar & Kitchen.

We are situated just 100 yards from Birmingham 2022’s Smithfield live site which will host Beach Volleyball, 3x3 Basketball / Wheelchair Basketball, the Marathon start and the Festival site.

Birmingham New Street station is less than half a mile from the venue.

We are open every day from 10am until late, up to and including the conclusion of the Commonwealth Games on Monday 8th August. Come and visit!


Our spaces

Gayming Arena

An exhibition and game play space dedicated to LGBTQ+ and LGBTQ+-friendly video games, delivered in partnership with Gayming Magazine, the world’s only LGBTQ+ video game magazine.

The Gayming Arena is open to all on a drop-in basis for people to get hands on with a range of fun games as well as check out a small exhibition with stands about the history of LGBTQ+ gaming, a stand about Gayming Magazine, and stands from other sponsors.

On Mon 1 and Tues 2 August, the Gayming Arena will play host to a specific LGBTQ+ esports celebration.

Bar

Unwind and relax with the refreshing tipple of your choice! Our Pride House Bar is open from 10am until late serving a wide range of drinks and bar snacks. You can keep an eye on the latest live Birmingham 2022 action on the big screens, and be well placed to also enjoy some of the various entertainments on offer at Pride House during the day and into the night. Don’t forget to take away a souvenir by getting snapped in our Photo Booth – print out or post to social media!

Café

The place to be at Pride House if you’re after a cuppa, a chat and maybe a slice of cake! You’ll also be able to check out what’s going on at the Commonwealth Games each day on the cafe’s TVs. This is a family-friendly, sober space where you can also view displays reflecting our education and youth programming with local schools.

Exhibitions

There’s so much to see at Pride House, and our exhibitions will certainly empower and educate you. Learn more about ‘LGBTQ+ Human Rights Across the Commonwealth’ with maps of five continents containing country-by-country information to help give you the complete picture. Celebrate the achievements of ‘LGBTIQ+ Sporting Heroes of the Commonwealth’ in our athletes’ photography exhibition. You can also read up on inspirational ‘Human Rights Defenders of the Commonwealth’ whose lives in activism are detailed in our resources.

Education Room

Whether you’ve got an interest in the diversity within Commonwealth countries, the quest to make sport more inclusive or the ongoing fight for LGBTIQ+ equality, there’s lots for us all to learn – and our Education Room will certainly expand your horizons. Drop in to hear panel discussions and talks from guest speakers; watch screenings of films and documentaries; and take part in interactive Q&As and other educational events.

Media Suite

If you need a quiet spot to pull your Commonwealth Games content together, we’ve got desk space for journalists and reporters. With so many unusual and interesting stories being told at Pride House, you might find your next story here too!
