Amongst all the discussion about performance sport and the role of trans people, particularly trans women in women’s sport, grassroots sport is often forgotten. A growing number of international federations are seeking to exclude trans women from competition, and yet insight shows us that trans people are less likely to take part in organised sports environments than their cisgender counterparts. So what are the real issues facing trans people in grassroots sport? What barriers do trans people continue to face in accessing organised sport and physical activity? What is the impact of exclusion on health and wellbeing and what can we do to facilitate engagement and inclusion?
Hear from our expert panel and learn more about what you can do to create inclusive environments for trans people in grassroots sport and physical activity.
